De-integrating the Science During SVT

Wyatt Lab graduate student researcher, Marilyn Hayden narrates the NASA BRIC-20 de-integration process during science verification testing (SVT) July 28, 2014 at Kennedy Space Center.

Of note, after the planned one-hour thaw (from -80C), the PDFU units were still too frozen to open and required an additional hour at room temperature before they could be opened. Once the PDFUs were opened, the samples were extracted, packed in dry ice, and shipped back to the Wyatt Lab in Athens, Ohio where the team is now analyzing the samples to determine if the additional time required to “de-integrate the science” has any impact on the quality and quantity of the proteomic analysis.
